Reviews

Tasty but definitely taste the protein

"I really liked this product. It had a good texture and flavor but you do definitely taste the protein powder. I think its not quite a replacement for ice cream but it was enjoyable, it wasnt too sweet which I appreciated. I got the cookie dough flavor and it had these sugary chocolate flakes that were the best part of the ice cream."

Great macro friendly ice cream

"I know this brand is polarizing. I got this pint because it was free and had moderate expectations. I thought it was really good. Nice sweet taste and the cookie dough had nice texture. I don’t think I got much chocolate flavor. I wouldn’t pay full price for this stuff ($8), but it was $2-3 per pint, I’d get it if I didn’t have any Ninja Creami pints ready at home."

Great packaging; mediocre contents

"I was pretty excited to try this new protein ice cream because, well, it's ice cream! While I did find ice cream inside the carton as expected, I did not find the flavor I was salivating for. The texture was actually really good for protein ice cream, but beyond that, it didn't really hit the sweet spot. It wasn't bad, but I think an apple with peanut butter would have been just as satisfying -- and probably healthier and definitely cheaper too."

Not quite the ice cream I was expecting

"I tried the cookie dough version of David’s frozen dessert. I was really expecting it to taste like most other ice cream. I can certainly taste the cookie dough and thought that was pretty decent. On the other hand, the ice cream surrounding the cookie dough bits was not very tasty at all. It’s not that I have a sweet tooth. It’s more like I feel there was not enough effort put to make it taste a little creamer. I probably won’t be getting this item again."

I like this ice cream

"I recently tried the Frozen Dessert by David Protein, and I was pleasantly surprised! The creamy texture and rich flavors made it a satisfying treat without the guilt. It’s low in calories and packed with protein, which is a huge bonus for my diet. Perfect for a hot day or after a workout. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious yet healthy dessert option!"

Protein Cookie Dough

"The cookie dough frozen dessert from David's Protein was a good protein dessert. The ice cream had a good flavor, a creamy consistency, and was also not grainy. The chocolate sauce and cookie dough pieces were also very good, but I wish there were more in the pint. Traditional ice cream is better, but the protein dessert was a very good alternative. I would try other flavors from David's in the future, such as peanut butter."

— MarissaG (4/5)

Delicious & Decadent

"I usually know just what to expect when I try a lower calorie dessert. In this case, however, I was pleasantly surprised with both the flavor and texture of the product. This frozen dessert is rich, creamy and just as sweet as I would want from traditional ice cream. The cookie dough pieces and chocolate ribbon are deliciously decadent additions. I ate it all in one sitting and didn't feel guilty at all!"

— PederM (5/5)

Delicious & Love The High Protein

"I have recently been enjoying David’s Cookie Dough ice cream and absolutely love the flavor and very creamy texture. What I don’t like about this ice cream is that it contains various gums, stabilizers, artificial sweeteners and artificial flavors."

— JenN (3/5)

Delicious frozen dessert with a protein boost

"I've really enjoyed this protein ice cream. It's a sweet, indulgent treat while fitting into my protein-focused wellness routine. I love the creamy texture and rich flavor, which makes it perfect for satisfying my craving for ice cream but without all the guilt. I hope they come out with more flavors!"

— AliciaC (5/5)

Really tasty

"I enjoyed both the flavor and texture of this ice cream. It did not taste chalky or have a watery/icy texture that some low cal ice creams do. There were cookie dough chunks in this flavor too, which tasted great. I would be inclined to buy this again if it wasn't so expensive."
