Our recipe development is guided by taste, but our nutrition standards are firmly guided by science. We adhere to the principle that the health of an ingredient is determined by its effect on the body. The Protein System combines milk protein isolate, collagen, whey protein concentrate, and egg white to deliver a perfect 1.0 PDCAAS score, optimizing muscle protein synthesis and supporting hair, skin, and nail health.
The Binding System primarily uses maltitol, glycerin, and allulose. Maltitol and allulose also provide sweetness with significantly reduced blood sugar effects. Collectively, the Binding System contributes just 20 calories per bar.
The Fat System incorporates a modified plant fat (EPG) along with small amounts of coconut oil, cocoa butter, and palm kernel oil (in some flavors). EPG replicates the texture of fat while being indigestible, contributing only 0.7 calories per gram. This results in a fat system that contributes just 18 calories per bar.
The Flavor System consists of non-caloric sweeteners like sucralose and acesulfame potassium, plus natural and artificial flavors to create the delicious taste of high-calorie foods without added sugar, calories, or impact on blood glucose levels. Certain flavors also include natural colors like carmine and pea flower for visual appeal.
